Since December 3rd, 2012, Newport Television and High Plains have announced the closing of
the following transactions:
Cox Media Group closed on their purchase of WTEV (CBS) and WAWS (FOX) in
Jacksonville, FL and KOKI (FOX) and KMYT (MNT) in Tulsa, OK.
Nexstar Broadcasting Group closed on their purchase of WIVT (ABC) and WBGH (NBC)
in Binghamton, NY; WETM (NBC) in Elmira, NY; WPTY (ABC) and WLMT (CW) in
Memphis, TN; WJKT (FOX) in Jackson, TN; KTVX ( ABC) and KUCW (CW) in Salt Lake
City, UT; WSYR (ABC) in Syracuse, NY; WWTI (ABC) in Watertown, NY; KGPE (CBS) in Fresno, CA and KGET (NBC), KKEY (TEL), KLRT (FOX) and KASN (CW) in Little Rock, AR and EGET (CW) in Bakersfield, CA. Nexstar
Broadcasting also purchased the Inergize Digital Media technology operations.
Sinclair Broadcast Group closed on their purchase of WOAI (NBC) in San Antonio, TX;
WHP (CBS) in Harrisburg, PA; WKRC (CBS) and EKRC (CW) in Cincinnati, OH; WPMI
(NBC) in Mobile, AL; WJTC in Pensacola, FL and KSAS (FOX) in Wichita, KS. Sinclair
also acquired the rights to program and operate WLYH (CW) in Harrisburg, PA and
KMTW (MNT) in Wichita, KS pursuant to local marketing agreements, as well as purchased the
non-FCC assets for WHAM (ABC) and EHAM (CW) in Rochester, NY.
Newport and High Plains continue to own KMTR (NBC) and EMTR (CW) in Eugene, which is under a sales contract. Newport will continue to operate these markets until they are officially closed. We continue to own the license assets at WHAM (ABC) and EHAM (CW) in Rochester, NY, but have entered an agreement to sell these assets to Deerfield Media (Rochester) Licensee, LLC ("Deerfield"). Sinclair will operate these stations pursuant to Joint Sales and Shared Services Agreements until the sale to Deerfield is completed.
Shield Media, LLC closed on their purchase of WXXA (FOX) in Albany, NY.
The total value of these transactions, upon completion, is approximately $1.1 Billion.
